Leilani has been in the people business for over 20 years. As an internal HR Leader for global wine and consumer package goods companies, she’s learned how to tap into the strengths of teams and leaders to deliver optimal business results. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by today's business leaders, Leilani tailors her coaching programs to help leaders unlock their full potential and achieve their professional goals.

As an independent HR Consultant and Executive Coach, Leilani brings her passion for people and their impact on business effectiveness to every engagement. Having obtained her executive coaching certification from UC Berkeley, Leilani guides individuals to become the best versions of themselves, enabling them to excel both inside and outside the office.

More about Leilani

For over 20 years, I've had the honor and privilege to work closely with a number of trusted and respected leaders. My HR career has focused mainly in food and wine. After seeing a random job post on Craigslist (remember that?!), I spent 12 years at Treasury Wine Estates, where I led the HR business partner function for the Americas region before heading up leadership and development programs globally. In 2017, I left Treasury to be the Chief People Officer at Mezzetta Foods, evolving the HR function from transactional to strategic. More recently, I served as the Vice President of Talent and Capability for The Wine Group, developing their first talent management organization, leading talent acquisition, learning and development, DEIB and supporting senior leaders as their internal executive coach. Taking a break from corporate life, I launched Leilani Johnson Consulting in December 2022, serving clients as an Executive Coach, HR partner, advisor and facilitator. My amazing clients include small to mid-size to large companies in wine, consumer packaged food products, education and non-profit organizations. I hold a bachelor’s degree in communications and am certified as an executive coach through UC Berkeley.
